Indrani Haldar also received the best actress award at the Madrid International Film Festival (Spain) for her role in a Bengali film, Jara Brishtite Bhijechhilo (Those Who Were Drenched In Rain) directed by Anjan Das. She also own “Patton Kalakar Award” for roles in Kuasha Jakhan in 1997. Her role in the Bengali movie Charachar was short but important enough to fetch the second BFJA award for Best Actress in 1995.
Two years later she worked in a Buddhadev Dadgupta’s film “Charachar”. She own BFJA Best Actress award in 1993 for the film “Kaancher Prithibi”. For long, she has been the favorite among the parallel film makers. She has become more selective about her role over the years and moved into TV serial also. She has done both mainstream Bengali movies pairing with Prosenjit or Tapas Pal in her early career. Some other notable Bengali movies by Indrani are Anu, Paromitar Ek Din, Dahan etc. She own the National Award for Best Actress in 1998 for her brilliant performance in the Bengali Movie Dahan directed by Rituparno Ghosh. She made her debut as a child artiste in the TV Serial “Tero Parbon”.
